The primary purpose of this web site is to present information and skills about the BCA Holistic Mental Health Therapy, a new, innovative approach to mental health and mental health therapy.

I am a mental health therapist [MSW, LICSW, Social Worker] and have been very successful using the BCA [B=Behaviors; C=Cognitions; A=Affect] Holistic approach for over 15 years. The success was in the clients quickly and significantly improving the quality of their lives and relationships. They were sad to see me leave my direct therapy practice, but happy to know that I would be trying to write the BCA Holistic approach down so other therapist might also be able to learn and use a similar approach.

One unique aspect of BCA Holistic that is very different from other mental health approaches, is defining emotions as power. In defining emotions as giving us power, then there really is no such thing as emotional intelligence so we can’t learn or gain insights from our emotions. This scientifically grounded, innovative idea will be explained in much detail in this website. However, if we define emotions as power, then all emotions are normal, innate and it is okay to feel them. It is okay to feel whatever you are feeling.

So now, recognizing that we are going to have emotions, the question really becomes how do we deal with them? How do we reduce our normal but unwanted emotional powers? A great question that will be fully explored in this website.

All info presented in this website will incorporate the innovative and empowering BCA Holistic perspective.

A secondary purpose is to build communities that understand, use, challenge and apply a BCA holistic approach. While I have used the BCA Holistic approach as a mental health therapist for over 15 years, only clients or staff working directly with me have any awareness of a BCA Holistic approach to therapy. The goal is to expand awareness, and build supportive and empowering communities to share a BCA Holistic perspective.

My vision and hope with this website is to attempt to provide information to build three distinct online communites with different perspective, approaches and goals. These three communities are: 1) providing insights to help individuals, parents, children, teens and anyone struggling with mental health issues, including self-esteem and relationships. 2) Offer guidance and training information and opportunities for mental health professionals. 3) Explore the therapeutic theory model development for mental health academic researchers.

A third purpose of this website is to refine and write down all the BCA Holistic approach experience, insights and scattered notes over the years into a comprehensive, understandable and accessible book manuscripts. To create books that can help continue building innovative and effective approaches to our ever-changing and challenging mental health issues.
